Delete your Voci account
Voci is published by Nikita Jevpalovs. This page explains how to delete your Voci account and everything Voci holds about your family.
The fastest way: delete it yourself, in the app
If you can still sign in, do it this way. It takes about thirty seconds, it happens immediately, and you do not have to ask anyone or wait for a reply.
- Open Voci and sign in.
- Go to Parent Space → Your data.
- Choose Delete account. You will be asked to pass the adult check and to type
DELETEto confirm. Only an adult can delete an account, and it cannot be undone.
You can also delete a single child’s profile from the same screen, which removes everything about that child and leaves your account, your other children, and the people you have described untouched.
Before you delete anything, you may want Parent Space → Your data → Download my data. It gives you one file containing everything Voci holds about your family, including what it worked out over time. You cannot rebuild that part yourself, and after deletion there is nothing left to export.
If you can no longer sign in
You do not need to reinstall Voci and you do not need an account to ask. Email us from the address your Voci account uses:
help@voci.family
Subject: Account deletion request
Send it from the email address on the account. That is how we know the request is yours: sending from that mailbox proves the same thing as signing in. We will not ask you for a passport, an identity document, a photograph, or a payment detail, and you should not send one. Nobody needs a copy of your ID to delete an account, and asking for it would create more information about you than the request destroys.
If we cannot verify that a request comes from the account holder, we will say so rather than act on it. Deletion is irreversible, and a deletion request from the wrong person is somebody else erasing a family’s history.
What gets deleted
Everything. In one operation, in the database, immediately:
- your account and your sign-in details;
- every child profile, including names and birth year and month;
- the people you described, such as grandparents or childminders, and the languages they use;
- your household’s language configuration and exposure history;
- everything Voci worked out: the language readings, the confidence levels, the explanations, the recommendations and the weekly plans;
- every activity, observation, note and life event.
There is no grace period and no hidden copy. Voci does not mark data as “deleted” and keep it. It is removed.
What survives, honestly
Backups. On the plan Voci runs today there are no automatic backups, so no copy outlives a deletion. When backups are added, the Privacy Policy will say how long a copy can last, before it applies to you.
Nothing else. Voci has no advertising, no analytics service and no crash reporting. If Voci noted which of its links brought you, that note is deleted with your account. Your family’s data is held by the database and hosting providers named in the Privacy Policy, and a deletion removes it. If Voci has emailed you, the company that sends our emails keeps its sending log, with your email address, for 30 days. If you paid for Voci Family, Paddle also holds your email address and payment details, as explained below.
Payments. If you paid for Voci Family, deleting your account also cancels the subscription. Paddle, which sells Voci Family, keeps its own payment records for as long as French law requires. Voci never holds your card details.
Your other rights
Deletion is one of several rights. You can also ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or object to some of it. All of them are described in the Privacy Policy, and you can complain to the CNIL at any time.
